The Chosen Path

“Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi.” — 2 Samuel 18:23

Running Is Not Everything

Consider The Path

There is much to be said for the path we select. A swift foot over hill and down dale will not keep pace with a slower traveler upon level ground.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.  Proverbs 4:26

Your Spiritual Journey

Are you laboring up the hill of your own works and down into the ravines of your own thinking, or do you run by the plain way of “Believe and live?”

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God! Let thy good spirit lead me on a level path! Psalm 143:10

He who heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof goes astray. Proverbs 10:17

It is blessing to walk with the Lord in faith!

Jesus Christ is Our Plain

A Pleasant Way

A pleasant way, a way suitable for the stumbling feet and feeble knees of trembling sinners.

Jesus said,

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way,  the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  119:105

The Way of Holiness

We read of the way of holiness, that the wayfaring man, though a fool, shall not err therein.

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.  Isaiah 35:8

We do not know the way of holiness on our own.

We have great difficulty remembering the way of holiness when trouble rears its ugly head.

Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a level path, because of mine enemies.  Psalms 27:11

Pride And Arrogance

Have you been delivered from your own proud reason?

If so, by God’s grace, you will outrun the swiftest runner who chooses any other path.

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is a level highway.  Proverbs 15:19

It is our wisest course to go at once to God, and not to wander in a roundabout manner to other sources.
