I love angels! The Word of God speaks of angels 165 times in the New Testament assuring believers that they are immortal messengers sent by the Lord to protect us, communicate with us, & minister to us.
The Word of God describes angels as intelligent, holy, worshiping, strong, immortal and invisible beings which are too numerous to count, who have rank and order. Two thirds of the original angel population belong to God, Scripture shows us that one third was cast out of heaven along with Satan. Scripture shows God has four categories of angels:
Scripture shows there are evil angels ruled by Satan, that they have rank, power, and attack believers. This study's focus is not on the dark angels so I will not go into detail at this time. I will only show that Satan does exist and he does have angels under his rule.
God has placed angels higher than human beings.
Angels are used to carry believers home after death of the physical body.
Angels bring messages to earth from heaven.
Angels can be seen with the naked eye and communicate audibly.
In conclusion, angels worship God, direct men, protect and give believers information, they do battle for God and His people, provide physical needs, strength, and encouragement for believers. |

The following short stories are actual events that happened to me personally. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed living them.

This happened many years ago, and I have to admit when it happened I was awed. At the time of this occurrence with angels, I was a brand new Christian. Richard had not yet been born again, so I was more or less alone in this whole born-again experience. I say alone because any help I got at the time was spiritual not physical. I was working as the night superintendent at a 7 story building in Kent Washington. I had 3 women on my crew so most of my 8 hour shift was spent checking up on their work, plus I cleaned 2 of the 7 floors. I don't know for sure where in that building or when the diamond in my wedding ring fell out, but at the end of my shift, I noticed it was gone. I literally tore apart my janitorial cart looking for it! It was not on my cart. I walked through my 2 floors looking, but I never found it. How was I going to tell Richard! In
total desperation, I prayed, "Lord, please find my diamond."
After I prayed, I closed the janitorial closet and went home where I
removed my ring and placed it in my jewelry box. Charlotte Fry |

We were moving from Washington to California when both Richard and I had another experience with angels. We were in 3 vehicles. Richard was driving the 24 ft truck with our son Jason and 1 dog, I was driving one of our cars with our son Shayne and 1 dog, and my friend Carole was driving our other car with her son Danny and 1 dog. Richard had gone on ahead of us and we would not see him until the next morning. Before we split up it was agreed we would all meet in Eugene, Oregon in the morning at the first exit. Carole and I had decided to head down the windy mountains before we stopped to rest for the night. It was late and we were tired from packing the truck. When we reached the bottom of the mountain, I pulled in for gas and to find out where Carole wanted to stop for the night. She approached me with this funny look on her face and asked me if I was okay. I told her I was fine and asked her why would she think something was wrong. Her response was eerie, but drove home the reality of angles in our lives. Apparently half way down the mountain, I slowed down to 10 mph and continued to drive this way for 15 minutes taking the curves cautiously and slowly. I do not remember this. I am a fast driver, very sure of myself and I drive mountain roads with ease. She said I slowed down so much that she could almost touch my bumper. It took a few minutes for Carole to realize that everyone in my car was sound asleep. Well almost everyone! Someone was driving the car but it wasn't me. When you fall asleep at the wheel, you are just gone, you never remember falling asleep and when you wake up as far as you can tell everything is fine. I woke up while turning into the gas station. We filled up and decided to drive to Eugene before we got our motel. We turned off at the first exit where we were to meet Richard in the morning and stopped at the first motel. As we passed the truck, neither one of us saw Richard or the truck pulled over on the side of the road at that same exit. He was asleep so he didn't see us when we passed him. We all found each other in the morning at breakfast and that is when Richard told us his story. Jason was curled up asleep in the passenger seat. The last thing Richard remembered seeing was the sign showing 38 miles to Eugene, Oregon. The next thing he realized he was driving past the "Welcome to Eugene" sign. He does not remember driving that 38 miles. He was so scared that he just pulled over to the side of the road, curled up and went to sleep then and there. He didn't want to drive the truck another foot! Charlotte Fry

When Richard and I were first born-again, we sold all we had, packed up the kids and drove across country preaching the gospel. We went as far as Pennsylvania. On our way home, we stopped at a camping/rest area in Salt Lake City, Utah. The next morning, I went to the public restroom to put on my contact lenses which normally was a simple task. Arriving at the one available sink, I noticed that the sink plug was gone. Not good! I immediately prayed that the Lord help keep my contacts safe with me and not down the drain. If I remember correctly, I prayed that an angel place his hand over the drain for me. I applied the cleaning solution and the lens immediately became as slick as snot. Before I could recover it the lens slipped down the open drain. Looking in the drain, I could see it floating in the water caught in the trap. I looked around and said, "Hey, where was your hand?" I left the washroom and went to find someone to open the drain for me. As I was explaining my situation and what I would need them to do, she suggested we first go look for the contact on the floor. I told her that I saw the thing floating in the drain. I also told her I was very disappointed in my angel because he didn't hold his hand over the drain as I had prayed. She looked at me like I was a nutcase. We both reached the sink at the same time. I immediately started looking down the drain encouraging her to do the same. As I looked in the drain, I noticed that the lens was no longer floating there. She gets my attention and points to my lens asking if this was the lens I had lost. There it was, sitting in the empty soap dish groove of the sink. I assure you, it wasn't there when I left the bathroom. I know! She didn't believe me either. Don't care what you think, I know my angel has a sense of humor and he was definitely having fun with me that day! Charlotte Fry

Just before Richard and I moved to the mountains by Yosemite, we made several trips up there to visit friends. In order to cross through the dessert while it was still dark and cool we would leave early in the morning. Nothing was different the morning of this particular trip, or so we thought. Dogs & suitcases loaded, we headed for Oakhurst. We were sitting at the red light waiting to get on the freeway north, when all of a sudden the right rear tire went flat.Richard removed the tire and walked down Carson street to the nearest 24 hour gas station. The attendant put the tire in water but could not find a leak. After filling the tire, he made sure it was holding air then sent Richard on his way. Richard got a ride back to the car the ordeal delaying our trip a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. We thought nothing more about it as we headed towards Oakhurst. As we came over the ridge route we could see Bakersfield Valley ahead and something else that immediately explained our supernatural delay. There were many flashing lights, a very damaged semi truck, and crushed cars everywhere. It seems that just 40 minutes earlier, the driver of the semi truck which was hauling two trailers, had fallen asleep at the wheel and had driven across the media into oncoming traffic crushing 6 cars, killing and injuring several people. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that had we not been delayed that 40 minutes, we would have been one of the cars in that terrible accident. It's times like these when you are spooked into an awesome reality check! After a long sobering time of silence, both Richard and I started thanking the Lord for sending the angel that delivered us from destruction that day. Charlotte Fry

Several months ago, a friend and I went roller blading around a lake here in town. To complete the trip was 7 miles of hills and more hills. This was a trip I knew I couldn't complete without resting. I don't know, I guess we were about half way around the lake when I spotted a rest stop. I could see there was a porta-potty, a dock, and some picnic tables. What I didn't see was the steep hill that I would have to venture down to get to the rest spot. From where I was standing, it didn't look too steep, but the farther I rolled, the faster I went, the steeper it got! Before I could do anything to stop myself, I was speeding down the hill at approximately 30 miles per hour. I saw my peril and prayed, "Oh Lord, protect me, don't let me get too hurt!" I caught myself calculating my doom. Over to my left was the fishing dock, if I were to choose that path, I would knock several fishermen off the pier and I too would end up in the drink. I quickly eliminated that choice. Next to the dock was a Toyota pick-up truck which I immediately dismissed knowing my body would damage the truck if I used it to stop me. Next to the truck was a cement ramp leading to the porta-potty. I knew to hit that could take me, the porta-potty and perhaps some un-suspecting victim to our doom in the lake. Couldn't hang with that! To continue my descent straight down the hill would even be a worse fate, since before I would reach the picnic table, my feet would hit a 5 inch cement curb. I pictured my body impaled in the picnic table & bench with gravel imbedded in my knees and cringed. At last I made my decision. There parked a little to my right was a beautiful black Mercedes. I knew they were built like Sherman tanks and this car could handle my inevitable impact without much damage to the car. I yelled to the owner that I was about to hit his car! And I did. To this day I do not remember any pain when I hit the trunk of the car. I hit with such a force that my body began spinning around the car and down the drivers side. Right about the drivers door, I came to an abrupt stop and sat down skinning my knee ever so slightly. My friend, who had managed to come down the hill with dignity, was sitting there looking at me with amazement. I could tell by his face the car was scratched. Hoping for a negative response, I asked him if I had damaged the car. Nodding he said, "They can probably buff the scratches out." My heart sank. About this time the owner came around to where I lay mumbling that I had just hit his wife's new car and she was going to kill him if it was damaged in any way. Apparently, she had just purchased the car that week. He helped me up and then went over to the rear quarter panel and began to rub it stating I had really scratched it bad. My friend was nodding his head in agreement. The frustrated owner had now walked to the other side of the car and was calling his grandchildren to come to him, they were going home. I was just about to give the man my name, address, and phone number and tell him that I would pay for the repairs when I rubbed my fingers over the scratches. I was shocked and amazed when the scratches came off the car and stuck to my fingers. I held the silvery strands up to the light and before I could think, stated, "Oh, look! These aren't scratches they're angel hair!" I cannot describe to you the funny look on the owner's face. He had touched the scratches himself. I must be nuts. He immediately came over next to me where I pointed to show him that there was absolutely no damage to his car. He just moved away. He never said another word. Conversation was over. That man knew that a miracle had just happened. His damaged Mercedes was restored, the scratches were gone and he didn't want to talk about it! My friend skated back to the car and while I waited for him to pick me up I did a lot of praising the Lord for His goodness and mercy. I knew I had been delivered from destruction in a big way! I also knew that somehow, someway, that man was touched by an angel and he would never forget it. While we were going over the details of what just occurred, and laughing a lot, I looked down and saw a piece of angel hair on my shorts. I was thrilled that it had stuck to my pants because, in my amazement and to my dismay, when I was holding the hair up to the light, I had let it go. I still have that strand of angel hair, in a little heart shaped container that oddly enough, has a picture of an angel on the lid. The strand is almost gone, it wasn't of this earth so it couldn't last, but every time I open that lid I am reminded of the day my angel saved me from breaking my neck and having to repair a Mercedes Benz!
