Prayer Basics

We Educate Our Children in Two Ways:

1. By training them to do for themselves what they can do.

2. By encouraging them to seek our help in matters beyond their power.

God educates us, first by impersonal law, and, secondly, by personal dependence.  He teaches us both to work and to ask.

Frederick Douglas used to say that when in slavery he often prayed for freedom, but his prayer was never answered until he prayed with his feet-and ran away!

Prayer Does Not Move God

But there are 3 things we need to remember.

• God confirms his word.
