Real Peace

Colossians 1:20-23

Jesus made peace between God and the World @ the cross.

  • He did not change God!

God has always loved the world.

  • He did not change the world!

The world continued to be sinful and rebellious.

  • Jesus changed the relationship between God and the world!

The barrier of sin was taken away.

  • This allowed God to show mercy where judgment was deserved.

This was a work of God alone, man had no part in it.

  • There is a work of reconciliation in the sinner!

He becomes changed in his rebellious attitude toward God.

  • He may now be persuaded to receive the reconciliation already accomplished by Jesus.

Romans 5:11

  • We must not complicate the gospel message.

While we were still sinners, Christ reconciled us to God.

Colossians 2:10

We lack nothing in him!

  • But there are conditions to realizing this perfection.

Colossians 2:6-7

We have to do what we have learned, and seen, and heard.

  • We must abound with thanksgiving.

Colossians 3:1-4

Having believed, we must now generate the desire to do what we have learned and seen and heard by seeking heavenly things.

  • Christ is to be our life!

Not the kids!
Not the job!
Not our spouse!
Not the car, boat, cycle, computer nor any other created thing!

Colossians 3:15-17

Let the fact that God is at peace with you have preeminence. You need the comfort of having God’s acceptance and favor

  • The word of God is to dwell in us.
  • The word of God is to keep house in us.

It must effect both us and others.

  • The word must be given the right to direct everything under its roof.

This is the test for “RICHLY”

  • The word should be always available to our mind and action.
