Gods Faithfulness
In these times of faithlessness and lack of constancy, it is healthy to
reflect on the faithfulness of our God.
Though readily observable in any area of life, today we will focus on two
areas: Salvation and Prayer.
Gods Faithfulness in Salvation
The Gift of Jesus
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the
Saviour of the world. 1 John 4:14
John replied: A man can lay claim only to what is given him from heaven.
John 3:27 (JB)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God
sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. John 3:16, 17
The Faithlessness of Man
No matter how short we come in the area of faith, God remains faithful
and continues faithful in calling people to repentance and faith in him.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith.
Be not highminded, but fear: Romans 11:20
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:
for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew
9:13
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I
will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with
the right hand of my righteousness. 41:10
The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare
in Zion the work of the LORD our God. Jeremiah 51:10
-
Brought forth has two possible meanings here:
1. Caused or created.
2. Drew out more of what was already there.
Faithfulness of God in Prayer
Beyond the unifying surrender of individual believers at the cross of Christ,
prayer is the next common denominator among believers.
Acts 12:1-16
Matthew 11:25
