The Passover was to be kept by Israel as a memorial of their redemption. Israel has not had a paschal lamb for over 1900 years, since the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, by Titus, in A.D. 70. Rabbis use as a substitute the dry shank bone of a lamb.

According to the law, the temple was the only place for the sacrifice of the lamb. The Jewish Passover now being observed each year is without a lamb; a striking fulfillment of Hosea 3:4, 5.
