1 Twice in the gospel of John we read, “the feast of the Jews.” (John 5:1; 6:4) It seems that the feasts of God had degenerated into “feasts of the Jews.” Such feasts had become occasions of display rather than heartfelt worship of the Lord. This should serve as a warning to churches today with regard to the meaningless observance of Christian ordinances. |
