Christ in Us
From the
title of this message you might expect me to begin with Colossians 1:27,
Christ in you, the hope of glory, but we will begin with Matthew 11:1-12
We will prove
all that God has accomplished in us when we accomplish all that God has accomplished in
us.
God has not
accomplished something that should lie dormant. God has brought within each of us a power,
a revelation, and a life by which he expects to reveal his greatness.
This leads
us to the fact that when man is in the hands of God, there is nothing the man may not
accomplish.
John The
Baptist
Greatest And
Least
Jesus tells
us (v. 11) that John the Baptist is the greatest natural man (born of women), but he is
the least of spiritual men (those in the kingdom of heaven).
Conflict
With Satan
Do not
suppose that John was allowed to sit in jail untried.
Many people
could be giants of faith, leaders of society, rise to subdue kingdoms, or be noble among
kings and princes, but they allow Satans suggestions to dethrone their better
knowledge of Gods power.
Now when
John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said
unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
Matthew 11;2, 3
A Need
For Confidence
How was
Jesus going to send confidence to John through the two messengers?
Jesus
answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf
hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Matthew 11:4,

either
Reed Nor Smoking Flax
Ministers of God are not reeds. If you see a minister who is
a reed he is merely an imposter.
God makes
his ministers as flames of fire (Hebrews 1:7)!
God has made
provision for you to be strong, to be set on fire.
Hidden in
Christ
2
Corinthians 15:52 tells us that at the coming of Christ, we will be changed:
In a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
Every time
we come in contact with Jesus we should be changed.
We should be
on fire with the desire to be with him and be like him in all things, both natural and
spiritual.
Christs
Desire
Jesus tells
us in Luke 22:15, 16
With
desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: For I say unto
you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Is has been
nearly 200 years since Jesus broke bread around the table with his disciples.
The Power in
You
Before you
can realize the power in you, you must first be awake.
- You may be asleep concerning the deep things of God.
Lot had righteous indignation from day to
day, but it was too little too late.
He should
have had that same indignation when he first entered Sodom, not when he was coming out.
Your
Sincerity
I cannot
doubt your sincerity on being saved, about being just. But there is a deeper sincerity to
reach.
Only God has
a right to have you.
- Not sin.
- Not sickness.
- Not Disease.
- Not fear.
- Not religion.
You must realize your power over Satan on
every front.
Mans
Error
Psalm 119:67
is the voice of error.
This is
proven by Psalm 107:17-19.
If
affliction, sickness, disease, hardship, privation, fear, worry, dread, apprehension,
exhaustion, pain, terror, bewilderment, or a hang-nail has helped you know God better,
then you need to get on your knees, right now, and ask him for much more.
If you will
not ask him for more, then your faith is not in your affliction.
We Know
Better Than we Do
That is why
Satan can bring these things upon us.
That is why
we no longer have prayer in schools.
That is why
crime is out of control.
That is why
teen pregnancy and suicide are increasing at an alarming rate.
Satan is
going to have free reign where you allow it.
Psalm 91:11
Christ is
not simply near or close at hand. Christ is IN YOU!
Our anthem
should be:
Possunt quia
posse videntur [L] They are able because they think they are.
