CHAPTER 12 V. 1 WOMAN = Israel TWELVE STARS = Genesis 37:9 = The twelve tribes of Israel. V. 3 The dragon is Satan. The seven heads and ten horns is the Antichrist.
V. 4 The child is the 144,000 Jews. Although the male child is not Jesus Christ, it may be considered a type of Christ. Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Israel will not acknowledge Christ as a son until they acknowledge him as the son of David. Zechariah 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. During the tribulation, Israel will ask the Son the question posed here, but they will ask it of the 144,000 Jews who believe on Jesus Christ. At that time Israel will have a great spiritual awakening. V. 5 The man child cannot be Jesus. Jesus has already been born, and we are now speaking of thing to come (cf. 4:1). Rapture # 3. The 144,000 Jews are raptured in the middle of the tribulation period. V. 7-8 Daniel 12:1, 7 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. Although Satan and his angels have already been cast out of heaven, Satan has had limited access to heaven. Ezekiel 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Now Satan is eternally restricted from the heavenlies. V. 9 Satan will no longer be the prince of the power of the air. V. 12 Satan has only 3.5 years left. V. 15-16 FLOOD = ARMY. V. 17 Satan's interest lies with Israel. |
