The King Comes!
A study in the book of Revelation

CHAPTER 6
This chapter begins a
new division of this prophetic book. A recap of chapters 1-5 are as follows:
CHAPTER 1
Establishes the author of the book; giving credentials, the setting, contents, and details
as to whom it was written.
CHAPTERS 2 & 3
Represent types of phases of the church throughout the dispensation of grace which have a
literal application to
people living during the tribulation period. These messages speak of the gospel of the
kingdom, not the gospel of
grace.
CHAPTERS 4 & 5
Are set in heaven, at the beginning of the tribulation when Jesus finishes his work of
intercession and grace at the
Father's right hand. Jesus goes to the throne of judgment to begin the redemption of the
earth from the powers of sin
and the devil.
In chapter 6, Jesus Christ begins breaking the seven seals on the book introduced in
chapter 5.
1.The message
proclaimed from the book is totally foreign to the gospel of grace.
We find such things as seals, vials, trumpets, sackcloth,
incense, and altars; all of which are associated with the
nomenclature of the law of Israel.
The 6th chapter
begins an actual account of the tribulation. But before we look at chapter 6 we will
compare some
verses of scripture.
Daniel 9:25-27
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and
to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and
two weeks: the street
shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two
weeks shall Messiah be
cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy
the city and the
sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war
desolations are determined.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he
shall cause the
sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall
make it desolate, even
until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Matthew24:9 Then
shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of
all
nations for my name's sake.
Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you,
delivering you up to the
synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will
build my church; and
the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The beast is going to make a covenant with Israel (not the church) for seven years. This
covenant begins immediately
after the War of Ezekiel 38 & 39, and is not to be confused with the Battle of
Armageddon.
THE TRIBULATION
PERIOD
Matthew 24:16 &
26 Petra
V. 20 The Jordan river is at flood stage in the winter.
The war of Armageddon is in seven stages.
Stages 1-4 usher in the seven years of tribulation. Stages 5 & 6 take place
during the tribulation period. The seventh stage (the Battle of Armageddon) concludes the
tribulation period.
WAR OF ARMAGEDDON
STAGE 1
Begins when the kings of the south launch a prodigious attack on Israel.
Daniel 11:40 And
at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north
shall
come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships;
and he shall enter
into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
STAGE 2
Begins with an immediate, full scale assault by Russia upon Israel.
Daniel 11:40-45
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the
north
shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many
ships; and he shall
enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the
glorious land, and many
countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and
Moab, and the chief of
the children of Ammon. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the
land of Egypt shall not
escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the
precious things of
Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the
east and out of the north
shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to
make away many. And
he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy
mountain; yet he shall come
to his end, and none shall help him.
STAGE 3
Russia returns from Egypt to regroup in Israel with a command post in Jerusalem.
Daniel 11:44-45
But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go
forth
with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the
tabernacles of his palace
between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none
shall help him.
STAGE 4
Russia is annihilated as a world power by the European forces of the Antichrist.
Ezekiel 38:2-6
Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and
Tubal,
and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O
Gog, the chief
prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I
will bring thee forth,
and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour,
even a great company
with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with
them; all of them with
shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters,
and all his bands:
and many people with thee.
GOMER = Turkey/East
Germany
MAGOG = Russia
JAVAN = Spain/Greece
CUSH = Ethiopia
MIZRAIM = Libya
ANAM = Vietnam
LEBAH = Lebanon
PUT..PHUT..LUBIM = Libya/Somaliland
ELAM = S.W. Iran
ASSHUR = Qalat Sharqat, Iraq
ARPACHSHAD = Hebrews
ARAM = N.W. Arabia
[JAPHETH ]
The sons of Japheth inhabit Asia Minor & the Mediterranean islands. The sons of
Japheth are: Gomer, Magog, the
Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
GOMER
The sons of Gomer are: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah
ASHKENAZ:
Ashk' naz is the traditional Hebrew name for Germany! Its people are referred to as Ashk'
nazis *Nazis*
TOGARMAH:
Togarmah is, or was, Turkish Armenia. Today it is a part of Turkey!
JAVAN
The sons of Javan are: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, and the Dananites
TARSHISH:
Tarshish is recognized as ancient Tartessus in Spain.
MAGOG
The Bible does not credit Magog with having any children, either sons or daughters.
MAGOG:
Magog is governed by Gog, Prince of Rosh (Hebrew word for head), Tubal, and Meshech.
Tubal and Meshech are peoples of northern Asia Minor on the Black Sea!
Magog would be Russia prior to the 1917 Bolshivik revolution, and is now inclusive of the
entire U.S.S.R.
[HAM ]
The sons of Ham people the lands of the south; Egypt, Ethiopia, Arabia, and Canaan. The
sons of Ham are: Cush,
Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
CUSH
Cush is also spelled Kush, and is recognized as Ethiopia. The sons of Cush are: Seba,
Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah,
Sabteca, and Nimrod.
RAAMAH:
The son of Raamah is Sheba (the Sabaeans), now the Yemen Arab Republic.
MIZRAIM
The sons of Mizraim are: Lud, Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh, Pathros, Cusluh, and Caphtor.
LUD:
Lud = Lub = Libya ANAM: Anam = Annam = The name used for Vietnam until the end of WW II
LEBAH:
Lebah = Lebanon
PUT
The Bible does not credit Put with having any children, either sons or daughters.
PUT:
Put = Phut = Lubim = Somaliland
There appears to be two avenues of travel for Put. The first being that Put, also Phut, is
somehow a part of Lubim
or Libya. The second is that Put is a separate nation of its own - Somaliland.
While I am a loss for an adequate explanation, the facts are the same; Put is Libya, and,
at the same time, it is
Somaliland.
CANAAN
The founder of the Canaanites.
[SHEM ]
The sons of Shem live in the regions between Japheth and Ham.
The sons of Shem are: Elam, Asshur, Arpachashad, Lud, and Aram.
ELAM
The Bible does not credit Elam with having any children, either sons or daughters.
ELAM:
The Elamites called their nation Haltamti, and were located in S.W. Iran.
ASSHUR
The Bible does not credit Asshur with having any children, either sons or daughters.
ASSHUR:
Asshur = ashur = The first capital of Assyria, and was situated on the west bank of the
Tigris River at the sight of
modern Qalat Sarqat, Iraq.
ARPACHSHAD
The son of Arpachshad was Shelah.
SHELAH:
Shelah was the father of Eber. Eber = Hebrew.
ARAM
The Bible does not credit Aram with having any children, either sons or daughters.
ARAM:
Aram = The Arnaeans; ancient Syria and Mesopotamia (N.W. Arabia).
Ezekiel
38:18-39:5 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land
of Israel,
saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face. For in my jealousy and in the
fire of my wrath have
I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that
the fishes of the sea,
and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that
creep upon the earth, and
all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the
mountains shall be thrown
down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. And I will
call for a sword against
him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against
his brother. And I
will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon
his bands, and upon
the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and
brimstone. Thus will I
magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and
they shall know
that I am the LORD. 39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus
saith the Lord
GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will
turn thee back, and
leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and
will bring thee upon
the mountains of Israel: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause
thine arrows to fall out of
thy right hand. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and
the people that is
with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of
the field to be devoured.
Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6:1
The first six seals (or the first six judgments) are judgments that man has brought upon
himself.
V. 2
Symbolic of the Roman Antichrist. This rider is not Jesus! Since the White Horse comes
first it is a reasonable
assumption that the Antichrist will already be known and established as a peacemaker. As
for the bow in the riders
hand, we notice nothing is said of arrows. In general, scripture mentions arrows when the
bow is used as a weapon of
war. This may be indicative of a world disarmament program.
Zechariah 1:8-12
I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle
trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
Then said I, O my
lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee
what these be. And the
man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath
sent to walk
to and fro through the earth. And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the
myrtle trees,
and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth
still, and is at rest.
Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have
mercy on
Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these
threescore and ten years?
V. 4
The rider of the red horse takes peace from the nations of the earth; causing men within
the nations to kill each other.
V. 5
Black symbolizes death by starvation.
Lamentations
5:7-12 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. Servants
have
ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand. 9 We gat our bread
with the peril of our lives
because of the sword of the wilderness. Our skin was black like an oven because of the
terrible famine. They
ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah. Princes are hanged up by
their hand: the
faces of elders were not honoured.
V. 6
The balances not only represent an equal distribution of food (a humanistic approach) but
they are also used in verse
6 to weigh food. In Matthew 20:1-2; 8-9, we see a penny is a days' wages.
1.Oil and wine were luxury foods.
Both were used as medicine.
V. 8
Only unbelievers die.
This may occur over 3.5 years or a shorter period.
1.Nature is going to revolt against mankind!
1969 205 million people in America
200 million = 2.6 acres of usable soil per person for food production.
1999 30 years later 410 million people in America
400 million = 1.3 acres of usable soil per person for food production.
1.You cannot grow enough food on 1.3 acres to feed one person for one year!
V. 9-11
People who turn to Christ after the rapture of the church are martyred.
These saints offered themselves as a sacrifice to God so they are seen at the altar. These
cry out for vengeance and
justice accorded under the law.
1. They are told to rest until their fellow servants and brethren are killed as they were.
This suggests that the world-wide command to fall down to worship the beast has not been
given at this point.
V. 12-17
Previously documented judgments.
Isaiah 30:26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the
light of the sun shall be
sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of
his people, and
healeth the stroke of their wound.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of
men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Matthew 24:29-30 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be
darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the
heavens shall be shaken: 30
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes
of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory.
Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your
heads; for your
redemption draweth nigh.
V. 17
A rapture promise to the 144,000 Jews.
