CHAPTERS 2 & 3

Because chapters 2 and 3 are actually one chapter, it seems pointless to separate them in the course of our study.

The first difficulty in understanding the book of Revelation arises from the failure to understand to whom the book was written. Most people fallaciously assume the book is written to the church. The language of the book makes that a very unlikely theory. In all probability, as we shall see, the book of Revelation was written to the Jews who will be alive during the tribulation period.

This is not to say, however, that the book of Revelation was not written for the church. The book of Revelation was written for the church, but it was written to the Jews of the tribulation period. God's word very often has a double meaning; a meaning in type and a literal meaning.
