V. 1
Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create
new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered,
nor come into mind.
Isaiah 66:22-24 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain
before me,
saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that
from one new
moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before
me, saith the
LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have
transgressed against
me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be
an abhorring unto
all flesh.
Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and
summer and
winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Psalm 78:69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath
established for
ever.
HOW?
2 Peter 3:12-13 Looking for and
hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being
on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless
we, according to
his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
V. 2
Two Jerusalems in scripture!
1. Earthly
2. Heavenly (new)
Some believe the New Jerusalem comes with Christ at the beginning of the millennium, but
Revelation 19:11-14
says the saints come prepared for war, not to enter the city of peace!
V. 3
Not the temple.
V. 5
Notice he does not say he will make all new things!
V. 12-14
A direct reference to Israel:
12 gates
12 tribes
12 foundation
12 apostles
V. 15-17
The city is 1,500 miles square and 1,500 miles high, with 12 levels. This means the city
will be at least 12 times
as large as a city covering all of the United States west of the Mississippi River; and
its livable area would cover an
area 6 times larger than the entire United States (provided the New Jerusalem is not in
the shape of a pyramid).
That is 26,640,000 square miles. If 1,000 redeemed live in one square mile, then there is
room in the city for
over 26 billion saints.
V. 18-21
1 Corinthians 2:9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you,
whether ye be
obedient in all things.
V. 25-26
The gates are always open as a show of God's warmth and love.

22
V. 1-2
It is not clear whether or not we will need to drink this water.
John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh
of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I
shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end. I will
give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
The river may be only for the people of the new earth, and not for the saints.
V. 4
Revelation 3:12 Him that
overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no
more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my
God, which is
new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my
new
name.
This indicates we are still God's property.
V. 8
John's last 10 visions have followed each other in chronological order.
1. 19:11 - The visible return of Christ.
2. 19:17 - The gathering of the forces of nature against the armies of Antichrist.
3. 19:19 - The destruction of the beast's armies and casting the Antichrist and the False
Prophet into the lake
of fire.
4. 20:1 - Binding of Satan and his confinement in the bottomless pit.
5. 20:4 - Christ establishes his millennial kingdom.
6. 20:11 - The judgment of the lost dead.
7. 21:1 - The rejuvenation of earth into a sinless place.
8. 21:2 - The descent of the New Jerusalem.
9. 21:22 - God taking man unto himself in an everlasting relationship.
10. 22:8 - The restoration of the tree of life to man.
V. 10
Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy
way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the
end.
V. 16
Revelation opens with the statement that it is the revelation of God, given to Jesus who
sent an angel to tell
John.
1. Revelation closes with Jesus taking responsibility for all of the prophecies of the
book.
V. 19
Taking away from the words of this book would apply to its not being taught from the
pulpit (cf. v. 10).
V. 21
The book of Revelation is not a book of grace, since God's grace is only mentioned twice
in the entire book
(Revelation 1:4; 22:21).
LATTER DAYS PROPHECIES

1. Return of the dispersed Jews to become a nation!

PROPHESIED:

2. Jews recapture the city of Jerusalem!
FULFILLED 1967 Arab - Israeli War (The Six Day War)
PROPHESIED:
Zechariah 2:2-5, 8
3. The rise of a military power in the Orient (Kings of the East) that can amass an army
of 200 million foot
soldiers!
FULFILLED In 1964, China boasted an army of 200 million men.
PROPHESIED:
Revelation 9:14-18; 16:12
4. The increase of wars, famine, and earthquakes!
FULFILLED Since WW II, there have been not less than:
16 limited wars
45 political assassinations
54 personal revolts
83 rebellions for independence
176 social revolutions, either political, economical, racial, or religious!
PROPHESIED:
Matthew 24:6-8
5. An increase in lawlessness!
FULFILLED According to governmental statistics, crime is increasing at an alarming rate.
PROPHESIED:
2 TIMOTHY 3:1-4
PROPHECIES BEING FULFILLED
1. The revival of the Roman Empire with a ten nation confederacy!
BEING FULFILLED
The European Economic Community (EEC) now has a fifteen nation membership: Germany,
France,
England, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, Greece, Spain,
Portugal,
Austria, Sweden & Finland!
PROPHESIED:
Daniel 2:39-40; 7:19-28
2. The revival of the occult practices of Babylon!
BEING FULFILLED
Witchcraft is being taught in High Schools & Universities throughout the country and
the world. Abortion
is legalized in this country, making it legal to sacrifice children!
PROPHESIED:
Revelation 9:20-21
3. A unprecedented turn to drugs (Sorcery = Pharmakeia = Drugs)!
BEING FULFILLED Take a look around you.
PROPHESIED:
Revelation 9:21
4. The move toward a one-world religion!
BEING FULFILLED
The World Council of Churches is hard at work merging various religions together! By the
time the second
beast, the False Prophet, assumes the project, liberal Judaism will most likely be ready
to join the merger
too!
The following is a list of seven things the false prophet will do (Revelation 13:12-16)
He exercises unlimited authority v. 12
He forces people to worship the Antichrist v. 12
He performs great miracles v. 13
He deceives the population v. 14
He forces people to worship the image of the Beast v. 14
He murders all nonconformists v. 15
He forces people to receive the mark of the Beast v. 16
PROPHESIED:
Revelation 17:3-10
5. The move toward a one-world government!
BEING FULFILLED
Hal Lindsey, in his book, There's A New World Coming, states, Once the EEC includes the
ten nations of
God's choosing, the group will begin to look for a leader powerful enough to make this new
nation the
nucleus of a one-world government. I believe the Antichrist is going to be that leader.

6. The decline of the United States as a world power!
BEING FULFILLED The EEC has successfully devaluated the dollar.
